Given that the same stuff happened to us before, I don't think this is a coincidence, either.

[thus, whenever 4 rolls around, riku can be found standing outside the academy and leaning against a nearby wall like the cool kid he is. while waiting, he pulled out his cerevice and is in the middle of playing around with some game or another. who says keyblade masters can't have fun, right? ...now if only he could get that top score. so close this time, too, but no cigar.]

[Terra's been putting in extra hours at the academy to make up for what he feels like is lost time, what with getting shot and then everyone being trapped in the jungle, so he's running a little late by the end of the school day. Still, he manages to jog to the gates to meet Riku on time.]

Hey. Were you waiting long?

[terra approaching gets riku's attention even before the guy speaks up. perks of being a blood hound with people and how they feel.]

Nah, I just got here a couple minutes ago.

[so not that bad a wait. it helps that terra was pretty timely, too. good job setting a good example, master terra. riku's eyes jump from terra and onto the academy.]

So what do you do here?

I'm a PE teacher. Basically, I'm the guy who keeps all the kids in shape around here.

[He looks a little proud of himself for it. Unsurprisingly for Terra, he has something of a drill sergeant teaching style. Nothing less than strict discipline would honour Eraqus' memory as a teacher, he thinks.

Not to mention having good stamina is more important than ever, if anything like getting scattered to the four corners of Tellus will happen again.]

Stunt double. Not the worst job to get stuck with.

[falling off buildings, getting 'shot', jumping fences? pretty fun. it definitely beats going to school or getting stuck at a desk job. ...him and school really have not been a thing lately, have they? ah well. keyblade masters can't all be high school grads.]

I'm guessing you didn't come all this way just to talk about work. [His expression becomes less lighthearted and more serious. He's had a lot weighing on his mind ever since their conversation with Roxas, and he imagines Riku must have thought along the same lines.]

Sorry, teach, but p.e. story time is gonna have to wait for another day.

[the statement gets accompanied by a small smirk, if one that quickly vanishes into a more serious, straight face as he meets terra's gaze straight on. good that terra can pick up on that fact that quick. granted, riku wasn't exactly hiding the fact that this wasn't a cheery little get together.]

I wanted to talk to you about Xehanort... and about your darkness.

[both are issues that've been weighing pretty heavily on his mind, surprisingly the latter more so than the former. maybe they are all puppets on xehanort's strings. that said, right now there's nothing they can do about that part. terra's darkness, on the other hand, is something that can be dealt with here and now and is also more worrisome. riku knows far too well what darkness can do to a person. maybe they don't know the other well enough and maybe other people in his shoes wouldn't give much of a damn about a mentor who abandoned them; riku, however, isn't most people.]
